The Ocean Wolf has hydraulic steering and a propeller powered Segatron autopilot.
It was installed when the boat was built, upgraded by Segatron in 2019 to integrate with the NMEA 2000 network backbone and a new handheld navigation cursor was added.
This webpage shows in high level the different components installed in the different parts of the boat and how it connects / interacts with our NMEA 2000 network.
It starts with the hydraulic steering machine that is installed in the master cabin:
The engine room hosts:
- 1x control box;
- 1x hydraulic oil tank and valves;
- 1x Hawe Hydraulic Radial pistol pump type: R19,3 Pn: 200 bar V: 13,2 cm3/U
- 2x V-belts Optibelt SPA 1332 LW connected to the Twindisc gearbox
And finally in the doghouse we find:
- 1x Sestrel compass;
- 1x control box;
- 1x handheld cursor;
- 2x Antisense NGW-1
To switch it on originally (and up to this day we have it functional and can always default to this if / when needed):
Set your course in the Sestrel ===> Turn the knob in your control box to Aux Magnet.
Fine tune steering options in the control box if they were not set already and the magic should start happening.
In 2019 we integrated the Segatron into our B&G NMEA 2000 network to get wind information and to get more modern / accurate heading information. We also added a new handheld navigation cursor. Segatron custom built for us the enhancements requested.
